Application & Claims

To be eligible for support from the LEADER programme, your project must meet one or more of the themes and objectives as described in the Argyll & the Islands Local Development Strategy. A copy of the Strategy can be downloaded within the Documents sections of this website.

Stage 1: Expression of Interest (EOI)

The first stage in the application process is to submit an EOI. This will allow you to make initial contact with the LEADER Team, providing them with basic details about your project.

You can submit an EOI through the Scottish Rural Network page:

Once your form has been received, you will be contacted by a Development Officer, who will let you know whether your project is eligible to progress to application stage.

YOU MUST SUBMIT AN EOI BEFORE THE REQURIED DEADLINE AS BELOW TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THAT FUNDING ROUND.

Stage 2: Application Stage

If your project is able to progress to this stage you will be granted access to the online LEADER application system, LARCs. In addition to the application, you will be required to submit a Project Plan and a Cash Flow/Milestones Forecast. Templates for these will be provided by the Development Officers.

Development Officers, will be available to assist you in the completion of your application and guide you through the application process. Applications will be assessed quarterly by the Local Action Group.  A timetable of LAG meeting dates is below.

Stage 3: Claims Stage

Payments to approved projects will be made in arrears after expenditure has been incurred and the project milestones have been achieved.  LEADER Claims Officers are available to assist projects when they are ready to submit claims. You will be provided with the details of your Claims Officer during the post approval stage.
